Yes, we are independent owners of 1 unit at Treetops / Ramada Resort. Our room is not managed by Ramada Resort Port Douglas – we manage it ourselves.
About Us
We are a husband and wife team who decided to buy a small holiday room in a resort with the romantic notion that we could invest in something that would take care of itself as well as holiday in beautiful Port Douglas. Well, we were right… for about a year. The property market dropped, the resort operator changed hands, our lease ended and we were offered a 25% return on the previous lease. That’s right, it’s not a mistake. They asked us to renew our lease for 25% of what the previous lease was. This was obviously a way to force us out and we had to get out because we couldn’t keep our head above water. Luckily Darryn is a web designer / developer and was able to build a website to support Blue Leaf Rooms.
Great Value
To cut a long story short, we have a great room in a great resort and because we because we have a way of reaching the public with our website, we have been able to get by independently. Our repeat business means a lot to us as people are more internet savvy these days and realise that they can get a great deal from independent operators like us. We use a registered hotel cleaning and laundering business, so you get all the trimmings of a 4 star hotel.
Great Room
We have a deluxe room in the best spot in the resort. We have a direct view of the planted rainforest, which has magical lighting at night. We are 10 to 15 metres away from the carpark and yet faces away from it and only a few metres from the lift. We are an end room which means we only have one neighbouring room for greater privacy. Our room is installed with a microwave which is an extra feature. We have recently installed a new LCD TV and to top it all off, we have a deluxe room which is a bigger room with a double bathroom.
Great Resort
Once you are in the resort, you’ll be surrounded by a lush natural setting, streams and fish ponds and board walk trails form an ambience that says ‘holiday’. The lagoon swimming pool has a swim up bar next to it so there is no need to get out of the pool to order that cocktail. There is a gym, two bars and two restaurants and the beach is 100m from the resort. There is no need to step out of the resort for perfect comfort, but if you want a little night life or shopping, Port Douglas CBD can offer you that. The Wild Life Habitat is practically next door and with the reef, the hinterland at your disposal, you’ll never be short of things to do.

Our room is a Deluxe Room at Treetops / Ramada Resort Port Douglas. As we are privately owned all bookings are all made through phone, email or using the booking system on this website. We provide a personal and responsive booking service which answers all your questions and caters to your needs.
